The Ledgendary Silkie Lightly Peated

Founded in 2014, Sliabh Liag Distillers is the first distilling company to set up in County Donegal in over 175 years. Situated on the Atlantic facing Sliabh Liag peninsula of Ireland, the An Dlamn Gin Distillery and the Ardara Distillery aim to reclaim the countys legendary (on occasion illicit) distilling heritage and revive the complex, smoky Irish whiskeys of days gone by. Whilst Ardara undergoes construction and aims to start its own whiskey production during 2021, the company has a growing portfolio of tremendous blended whiskeys and gins which all began with the release of the much adored Ledgendary Silkieback in 2016.

Carefully crafted to honour the beautiful Donegal coastline and the magical creatures said to reside there, Silkie blended Irish whiskey aims to be just as beguiling as the Silkies themselves, with its soft mouth feel and its rich and warming flavour.

The Signature whiskey is a blend of double and tripple distilled malts with soft grain whiskey and just a touch of peated malt. Bottled with natural colour and without chill-filtration.

Tasting Notes

Nose:Apricot, white grape, clotted cream and buttered hot cross buns.

Palate:Runny honey, chocolate digestives, a hint of spicy fruit cake.

Finish:Caramel sticks around on the finish for a good long while.
