Chteau Lafon Rochet Saint-Estephe 1986

The origins of Chateau Lafon-Rochet go back to the sixteenth century. In 1650, the heiress ofthe estate, Antoinette de Guillemotes, married Etienne Lafon, Advisor to the Parliament of Bordeaux. Hereceived the vineyard as a dowry, which then becomes the Lafon-Rochet estate. The Lafon family ranChateau Lafon-Rochet for over two centuries, even during the French Revolution, and enabled the estateto access the rank of 4th Grand Cru in 1855.

After the death of Ms. Lafon De Camensac in 1880, Chateau Lafon-Rochet experienced a succession ofowners (the Audon family, the family Duquenoy-Legry family…), which will not have a good impact onthe vineyard.

When Guy Tesseron bought the Chateau Lafon-Rochet in 1959, it was indeed in poor condition. GuyTesseron then undertook extensive renovation work: he rehabilitated the vines, destroyed the old houseand built an eighteenth century charteuse style one, thereby restoring the propertys former glory.

Today, his son Michel Tesseron and his grandson Basil Tesseron run the property and perpetuate thisgreat family adventure.

It covers 45 hectares of red varietal (55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 5% CabernetFranc).

Wine: Chateau Lafon-Rochet is a wine with a delicate bouquet, extremely fine with a dark crimson colorand a spicy nose with dark fruit.
