Laphroaig

Laphroaig Distillery was established in 1815 on the rocky south coast of the Isle of Islay off the west coast of Scotland. Laphroaig is a malt whisky distillery which continues to malt barley using its traditional malting floors and malt kiln. In 1994 Laphroaig was awarded the Royal Warrant. Visitors are welcomed at the Laphroaig Distillery visitor centre where distillery tours are available. Laphroaig Distillery participates in Feis Ile, the Islay Festival of Malt and Music.

Nose: Medicinal with toffee and caramel, moving on to floral with hints of cloves and nutmeg.
Taste: Dried fruit and leather building to a spicy peppery finish. With water sea saltiness is highlighted and signature Islay peat smoke is intensified.
Finish: Lingering, very long and very dry with classic Laphroaig salt on the lips.
