The Arran Distillery is situated in Lochranza village on the North side of the beautiful Isle of Arran. In Scotch terms this is a young distillery with production starting on 17th August 1995. The area is home to some of the purest water in all of Scotland, every drop of Arran Single Malt starts its life as rainwater which pools at Loch na Davie in the beautiful hills behind the distillery.
The purity of the water means that Arran can create a clean, sweet dram which is entirely natural and unadulterated. They never add caramel colouring or strip flavour out through chill filtration.
Arran Barley Edition
This limited edition Arran 10 year old Single Malt has been distilled using malted barley grown on the Isle of Arran, at Bellevue Farm by the Currie family.
This whisky has been matured in a selection of 1st Fill Bourbon Barrels and 2nd Fill Sherry Hogsheads in very similar proportions to the classic Arran 10 year-old. “It has been our privilege to work closely with another dedicated island producer to bring the provenance of our ingredients even closer to home.”
A new small batch of Arran Barley Edition will be released annually with variances depending on the crop type, cask types and volumes available.
