The Knappogue castle in Ireland has been around since the15thcentury. In1966,Mark Edwin Andrewsfrom Texas bought its ruins and restored it with his architect wife. Then, Mark started buying barrels of fine Whiskey from all around the country, maturing them even further, bottling them under the castles name. his last release was a1951 vintage, matured for36 years, which hardcore Whiskey aficionados consider a holy grail of Irish Whiskey. Now, his son,Mark Andrews III, is aknightedWhiskey maker, offering us lavishlimitedreleases.

The Knappogue Castle 21 Year Old Single Malt Irish Whiskeyis anartful blendof two single malts. They were both created in copper pot stills and matured in ex-Bourbon casks one for 23 years (1994) and the other for 21 years (1996). This 92 Proof Spirit brings fruity aromas of vast orchards, an oaky backgroundandacomplexmalty-rich palate.
