Distillery Information
Domaine Tortochot is wine producer based in the village of Gevrey-Chambertin, in the northern Cte de Nuits subregion of Burgundy’s Cte d’Or. The domaine specializes in wines from the Pinot Noir grape variety and is most recognized for its three premier cru wines produced from the renowned Lavaux-Saint-Jacques and Champeaux Premier Cru vineyards in Gevrey, as well as the Aux Charmes Premier Cru climat in Morey-Saint-Denis. Domaine Tortochot’s wine portfolio also comprises four grand cru wines sourced from plots in the Le Chambertin, Charmes-Chambertin, Mazis-Chambertin and Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru vineyards. The Tortochot family has a viticultural history in Gevrey-Chambertin that goes back four generations. This started in the 19th Century with the vigneron Paul Tortochot. The Tortochots became connected with the notable Libaut family from Morey-Saint-Denis when Paul’s son Flix married Louise Libaut, who aded her family’s vineyards in the village to the Tortochot holdings.
