Ledaig Hebridean Moon is inspired by Mulls Baliscate Standing Stones, which for centuries have marked the lunar cycle – a symbol of renewal and reflection. Crafted from Tobermory Distillerys newest stills, this is the first 10 year old expression from Ledaig to be bottled at cask strength.

Nose: An earthy smoke fades to reveal soft vanilla, double cream and candied fruit with a gentle spice and touch of cracked black pepper.

Palate: Packed full of citrus notes reminiscent of lemon drizzle cake, balanced with notes of fresh leather, tobacco and a hint of toasted oak.

Finish: A warm medicinal smoke lingers with a gentle cinnamon spice.

Distillery Information

(Le-Chig) In present day we know Ledaig as the delightfully peaty expression from the Tobermory distillery. Originally however, the name of Ledaig was used for this Isle of Mull distillery when established in 1798 by John Sinclair. Meaning Safe Haven in Gaelic, the production of Ledaig and Tobermory Whisky is split 50/50. The character of Ledaig traditionally is sweet and oily with a heavy reek of earthy smoke. This bold, punchy peat monster can go toe to toe with the finest peated whiskies from Islay.
