The Glenfarclas Distillery has only gone and bottled up a whisky that was aged in a single cask for 60 years. Yes, we agree, an astonishing feat. This expression was distilled all the way back in 1959, and was filled into a first-fill Oloroso sherry hogshead, in which it slumbered for six decades. It was eventually bottled up at 40.9% ABV, with just 105 bottles produced. Each one comes in a particularly handsome presentation box designed by NEJ Stevenson, bringing to mind the big red doors of Glenfarclas’ warehouse. We feel the need to reiterate – an astonishing accomplishment, this one.
