The2017 Hyde de Villaine (HdV) “Ygnacia” Pinot Noiris a highly-rated, elegant red wine from the Los Carneros region of Napa Valley, crafted through a partnership between the Hyde family and Aubert de Villaine of Domaine de la Romane-Conti.
Aromas: Prominent scents ofBing cherry, raspberry compote, and rhubarbare complemented by floral notes ofviolet, lavender, and rose petal, with underlying hints of cinnamon and mossy bark.
Palate: It is characterized by ajuicy finishand a “chalky” or “stony” mineral frame. The wine is light-to-medium bodied withfine-grained, firm tannins.
Winemaking: This vintage was produced with minimal whole clusters (roughly 8%) and modest use of new oak to preserve the terroir’s energy and concentration.
