2023 Stags’ Leap Winery Sauvignon Blanc, Napa Valley, USA (750ml)

WINEMAKER’S NOTES:

Refreshing and bright, with fragrant lemon citrus notes and delicate white floral characters illuminating the fragrant profile on the nose as notes of Meyer lemon peel, acacia blossom, and subtle lemongrass waft from the glass. The palate is zesty and crisp, presenting a light to medium body with lovely balance, rich complexity, and silky weight. Elegant notes of green Anjou pear, white peach, and citrus fruits provide a lively freshness as nuanced elements of spiced white pepper, lanolin, and flinty minerality provide a structured backbone, giving this wine layered finesse and persistent intensity. The finish is long and perfumed with mouthwatering acidity.

TASTING NOTES:

Aromas of passion fruit, lime zest and grapefruit. The palate is light- to medium-bodied with a creamy texture an bright acidity, giving flavors of green melon, papayas and lemon curd. Fresh and generous.

The 2023 Sauvignon Blanc originates from Gamble Ranch (Oakville) and Bear Flats (Calistoga). Fermented and aged in a mix of older oak (56%) and stainless steel (44%), it’s highly aromatic, with passion fruit, gooseberries and nectarines all evident on the nose. In the mouth, it’s medium to full-bodied, plump, expansive and generous. There’s plenty of flavor, culminating in a long, citrusy finish.
