ABOUT THIS WINE

The 2023 VK Ikons from Moslavina, Croatia, is a stunning homage to two indigenous grape varietieskrlet and Graevinablended equally to celebrate local tradition and lineage. Crafted by VotiniKlasni, a family winery dating back to 1936, this wine embodies ancestral viticultural knowledge passed down from Tomislavs great-grandfather, who pioneered krlets revival and underscored its organic cultivation. Fermented entirely in stainless steel using native yeasts, the grapes are hand-harvested at dawn to preserve freshness. The soil, a clay-loam blend on the slopes of Moslavaka gora at about 160m elevation, adds structural definition, and yields remain intentionally low (~2.5kg/vine across 5,200 vines/ha) to ensure depth and intensity.
