Berry’s Brothers and Rudd was founded in 1698, making it one of the oldest wine merchants in the world. BBR also produce their own liqueurs (The Kings Ginger Liqueur being one of the most popular) and release lots of wonderful whiskies and rums as an independent bottler.
Guatemala Rum
With a long history of exporting sugar cane, Guatemala is renowned for producing some of the world’s most celebrated rums. This spirit offers an intriguingly restrained nose, with notes of baklava, crepe bandage and marginally undercooked arrowroot biscuits, with maybe a hint of curry leaf. The palate is dominated by sugar cane, although pleasingly dry on a finish where any wood is beautifully smothered in cane honey. Mojitos all round, please.
Distilled and matured in Guatemala.
Tasting Notes
A perfumed nose with tropical fruit and sandalwood. The palate has a vibrant character that takes some time to emerge so hold this one on the tongue. Thisrum has got a lingering and viscous finish.
