Compass Box The Circle No. 2

Released in 2022, a limited edition blended malt from Compass Box, co-created with Mannie Monaghan,the second winner of The Circle, the brand’s global programme designed to connect the creative processes found in the blending room with the bar industry. To create The Circle No. 2, Monaghan tapped into his neurological condition, synaesthesia, which causes the blending of senses. His vision was to make a whisky that evokes the colour coral. More than half of the blend is from Speyside distillery Glen Elgin, combined with whisky aged in sherry casks, dashes of a peated whisky and a small amount of malt whisky matured in shaved, toasted and recharred (STR) wine casks. 3,113 bottles were produced. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 46%. (Bottle size 750ml)

Nose: Bright pineapple and stewed peach aromas leap out of the glass.

Palate: The flavour is of vanilla, honey and sultanas soaked in cognac.

Finish: Medium long, honeyed and malty.
