Domaine A.F. Gros ‘La Toppe d’Avignon’ Ladoix 2021

A small parcel at the bottom of the slope near the village. 100% destemmed.

Beautiful, perfumed aromas of red cherry, strawberry, and raspberry with violet overtones. Medium-bodied with a luscious, pure, and juicy texture with ripe, soft tannins that envelop the further summer berry and floral core with a sprinkling of black pepper spice. Drink 2023-2025. (JG/AR. Anne-Francoise Gros (Vosne-Romanee) is married to Francois Parent (Pommard) and live in the latter commune, though their wines have been made in their impressive premises in Beaune since the late 1990`s. The domaine is made up of Anne-Francoises portion of Domaine Jean Gros, yet other wines from in and around Vosne-Romane are made from vineyards which she has bought or leased, as well as her husbands part of Domaine Parent. Francois also creates wines under his own label, recognizable by the distinct image of a black truffle.
