This bold Californian red comes from one of the founding families to build and establish the Napa Valley as one of the world’s leading regions for luxury wines. Co-founded by Dan and Margaret Duckhorn in 1976, Duckhorn Vineyards has spent almost fifty years establishing itself as one of North Americas premier producers of the region’s wines. For their Cabernet, cooler spring temperatures cause buds to break later than average, and warm summer nights produce fruit that demonstrates a great balance between acidity and sugar. All of which translates into a rich diversity of complexity and flavour. Expect aromas of blackberry, black cherry, fresh mint and huckleberry complemented by notes of dark berries, mocha and chocolate-covered cherries followed by a long, rich finish. Pair with grilled meats, slow-cooked hearty stews, wild game, and hard, aged cheeses.
