Maybach Family Vineyards Irmgard Pinot Noir 2021 750 ML

This newest vintage of Maybach is stunning. In planting this vineyard in 2007, Chris Maybach and winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown chose two different California Heritage clones, Swan and Calera, to produce a distinct wine that reflects the soil and climate. The vineyard is not far from the town of Occidental and is considered the far reaches of the Sonoma Coast. The grapes tend to result in wines with distinctive notes driven by the unyielding conditions of their locale. From this vineyard you can see the Pacific Ocean, which puts the site near the fringe of where it is possible for nature to allow the cultivation of wine grapes. It offers leagues of depth and aromatic notes of forest floor, cassis, and cinnamon. On the palate, notes of plum, cranberry compote, rosemary, oolong tea and a zesty acidity draw out into a clean perfumed finish. 280 cases were produced.
