DESCRIPTION

Nikka Super Old Rare is a classic Japanese blended whisky, first released in 1962. It combines malt and grain whiskies from Yoichi and Miyagikyo, balancing richer, lightly peated notes with lighter, fruit-driven character. It reflects Nikkas traditional craftsmanship and remains a benchmark for Japanese blended whiskies, recognizable by its distinctive midcenturystyle bottle. Bottled at 43%.

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Rich and layered, with hints of dried herbs, orange peel, and subtle floral notes. Gentle smoke and delicate oak mingle with light spices, giving a refined and elegant aroma.

Palate: Smooth and rounded, revealing honeyed sweetness, ripe citrus, and gentle vanilla. Underlying notes of soft spice, a touch of peat, and a light nuttiness balance the sweetness. The texture is silky, with excellent harmony between malt and grain components.

Finish: Medium length and balanced, leaving lingering citrus, soft oak, and a whisper of smoke. The finish is clean, with a subtle warmth that invites another sip.
