Ormeasco di Pornassio Guglierme 2021 (Liguria, Italy)

The robe is purple and the alcohol content is immediately visible as tears in the glass. This translates into a spicy nose made up of leathery notes, full of deep dark fruit of the woods. I can close my eyes and smell the mushrooms on the woodland floor. Like many regional wines, they pair fabulously with the regional cuisine and this does exactly that. Bring on the porcini risotto.
