Talisker Distillers Edition (1x70cl)

The Talisker Distillers Edition is an annual limited release from the Talisker distillery on the Isle of Skye. Like the standard Talisker 10 Year Old, the Distillers Edition showcases the brand’s signature bold, peaty, and maritime-influenced flavor profile.

The key difference is that the Distillers Edition undergoes an additional maturation step. Typically, the whisky is first matured in traditional ex-bourbon or ex-sherry casks, which provides the core Talisker character. It is then finished for a period of time in specially selected fortified wine casks, such as Montilla Fino or Pedro Ximnez sherry butts.

This extra cask finishing helps to round out the whisky, adding further layers of complexity and depth. The Distillers Edition may exhibit more pronounced notes of dried fruits, dark chocolate, toffee, or subtle spice compared to the standard 10 Year Old expression. The interplay between the robust peat, salt, and pepper notes and the softer, sweeter finish cask notes creates an intriguing and harmonious flavor profile.
