Inspired by Islays greats yet deeply rooted in Japanese tradition, Akkeshi crafts whiskies using locally sourced peat and barley, along with native Mizunara oak from Hokkaido. After testing the waters with their “New Born Foundations” series starting in 2018, Sarorunkamuy debuted as their first official single malt in 2020, setting a new benchmark for small-scale, terroir-driven Japanese whisky.
