The Liberator Knick-Knack Paddywack Chardonnay

PRODUCER:Rick is the alter ego of Master of Wine, Richard Kelley.Over the past 25 years, Richard has become one of the most respected authorities on South African wine in the UK and beyond. Between 1995 and 2002, he lived and worked in the Cape, witnessing the renaissance of the post-apartheid wine industry. Throughout this fruitful period, he established a healthy rapport with the great and the good of the local wine scene, affording him access to their distinguished cellars.

WINEMAKING: This is his homage to the regions Chardonnay, made by the extremely talented Johnnie Calitz in the cellars of Glen Carlou. This much-loved producer, located a few minutes from the university town of Stellenbosch and about half an hours drive from Cape Town, is famed for its exquisite Chardonnay. So, this is a major coup for The Liberator. Expect a distinctly Burgundian experience at a fraction of the price and with a little additional sunshine in the mix.

TASTING NOTES:Clean citrus fruit, apple, a touch of peach and white flowers on the nose follow onto the palate, which has a lovely weight and creamy texture.
